 ARCHIPELAGO BATH PRODUCTS:
LOVE AT FIRST SNIFF

With some product lines, it takes a while to develop a relationship, to appreciate their finer points and to commit to using them. With Archipelago Botanicals, it was love at first sniff.
The first time we met was a couple years ago. I was at a spa convention in Los Angeles and someone gave me a couple of samples of the Sugar products for hands and body. When I opened the small packets, I inhaled deeply. The scent was sweet, but not cloying; a delicious meld of white sugar and mango and — perhaps a mere suspicion of vanilla and coconut? Nothing artificial here, just lovely botanicals to soothe the skin and delight the olfactory sense.
 More recently I tried the new Archipelago Botanicals Bubble Bath in two ‘flavors.’ First I sampled the Milk Bubble Bath, which contains three different types of ‘nourishment.’ The Soy Milk contains soy protein, amino acids and lipids, which allow for rapid hydration and cell regeneration. Rice Milk, which is found in Asian-based cultures, leaves the skin not only clean, but supple and soft. Oat Milk contains natural oat protein, which soothes the skin and leaves it smooth to the touch.
Like its Archipelago siblings, this bath product smells yummy and—more important to someone who loves baths and showers only when time is short—is not drying, as so many ordinary bubble bath products are.
The Morning Mint Bubble Bath is a bit more invigorating; a jump-start to the day for those times when you bathe in the morning or can’t just move directly from bath to bed. These  bubbles are infused with lots of aromatherapy goodies by way of stimulating essential oils and an uplifting citrus-mint scent. Though my skin isn’t overly sensitive except during those trying winter months, I did appreciate the extra gentleness provided by jojoba ester and dried milk solids.
Both bath lines have complementary body lotions as well as other “matching” products, but I tend to use my old favorite Sugar lotion after bathing.
Both Bubble Baths are $22, the Milk version for 32.5 fl. oz., the Morning Mint, for 32 fl. oz. The Sugar Lotion for the body is $12 for 15 fl. oz.
