WSR Stocking Stuffers for Spa Lovers by --
|
A WSR tradition! Here it is, the 2007 Holiday Stocking Stuffer for the spa-lovers in your family; for everyone including your four-legged friend. We selected the best stocking stuffers and home spa gifts we could find for the spa-lover in your life. We hope that you love them as much as we do.
Earthly Body's Suntouched Candles: Christmas Scents
The clever folks at Earthly Body who created the popular Suntouched Candle Line - soy candles that double as massage/moisturizing oil - have now added two wonderful holiday scents to their selection: Hollyberry and Earth Angel. Hollyberry reminded me of a winter garden. Earth Angel smelled of baked goodies and floral scents. Heavenly! These scents really travel, filling a room but not overpowering it.
Suntouched candles include eight natural oils including hemp seed, Vitamin E, jojoba, avocado, and almond. They burn 30-35% longer (60-hour burn time) and burn cleaner than paraffin wax candles. The oil is produced during and after burning. According to Earthly Body, these candles heat to just three degrees above body temperature. A little spoon is included to scoop out a little oil. A little goes a long way! When applied, the product goes on thinly enough to leave a pleasing fragrance, and skin feels very soft. Earthly Body's products are cruelty-free, vegan, and non-toxic. They are listed on PETA's list of animal-friendly companies.

Triloka: Season's Scents
Fill your holiday celebrations with classic scents like Angelic Frankincense and Sandalwood Fire. Triloka's variety of incense comes in sticks and cones, and is an excellent stocking stuffer, or a lovely tie-on to the ribbon on a gift.
A classic Christmas scent, the Îincense of the Franks (frankincense) was introduced to Western Europe by French crusaders returning from the Middle East. It features as one of the gifts of the Magi along with gold and myrrh.
According to the parent company, Windrose Trading, Triloka incense's supplier is "a small family business in India", the profits from which support a small Ayurvedic clinic established over 20 years ago. The clinic offers free treatment and medication to all people in the area." The Virginia-based company packages hand-rolled masala or charcoal-masala incense is some of the finest on the market, using herbs, gums, essential oils, charcoal and other natural ingredients. They don't dip or enhance their scents with chemicals. (According to the company, the majority of incense on the market "is made from blank sticks dipped in perfume compound. This dipping process is quick and cheap, and the fragrance starts to evaporate after six months.") Their incense Îrecipes' are used for aromatherapy or purification purposes, and can be stored for years without losing their scent.
Other Triloka scents include Arabian Jasmine, Musk, Dream Rose, Marrakesh, and China Rain. Sticks retail for $2-$3.00, and cones for $3.00-$4.00. Visit www.windrosetrading.com for more information.

L'Athene
What could be better for the holidays and the New Year than beautiful skin? The two women who brought their nursing background to L'Athene's rich skincare products have devised a micro-dermabrasion at-home treatment called Mineral Derma-Scrub, and it works, even on my horribly sensitive skin, where it left no marks and exposed softer skin, with fine lines vanishing and discoloration reduced or gone. In other words, I had much younger, more beautiful skin - AND it takes only two minutes twice a week. There are 40 treatments in one jar, for $68. www.lathene.com.
Lip Ink
Lip Ink (www.lipink.com) is very well known among models and media performers, but it still hasn't become the watchword it should be among consumers. The lip colors are organic, natural and stay on all day; the fact that they simply don't smudge has allowed performers to eat and drink before going on camera. They come off in a trice with the company's extremely gentle remover and the zillion colors cover just about anything you could want. A lip color tube is $18.95 and lasts an unbelievably long time.
