Equavie: Organic, Gentle and Really Effective
by Marilyn Green --

Equavie

Equavie, distributed by Phytomer, is an organic skin care line probably more widely known for its supplements. But that should be changing quickly. The line's carefully crafted facial treatments are exceptionally gentle and kind and very effective.

Too often my highly sensitive skin can't take products that do wonders for my friends, but everything in this line soothed the skin rather than leaving it blotchy or red. And after trying it on a number of women with all sorts of skin types and conditions, I'd have to say it is truly effective.
"Faces dried by central heating, time on the beach, skiing – you name it – came back to normal and better in record time, and there is no greasiness, no shine, just beautiful skin."

Among the stars of the line is the cleansing toner, which is often a sore point (literally) for me. It is to be used mornings only and takes away any traces of makeup, even from the eye area, while soothing irritation and reducing puffiness.

Cleansing milks often leave me very dry, but the macadamia oil in Equavie's actually leaves my skin feeling moisturized, not tight or exposed.

The Renewing Cream is rich, and a little goes a very long way; strawberry seed oil packed with Omega-3 and six fight off free radicals, and the result is definitely softer skin.

The Nourishing Cream, though, was the most impressive product of all for us. Faces dried by central heating, time on the beach, skiing – you name it – came back to normal and better in record time, and there is no greasiness, no shine, just beautiful skin. Shea butter and hemp oil with its fatty acids are among the key players, but those of us who tried it were most impressed by the damage control.

Equavie's organic skin care line is certified by both Cosmebio and Ecocert. Cosmebio is a French association that represents members of the whole production chain – suppliers of raw materials, manufacturers, etc. – who have made a commitment to natural and organic cosmetics. Ecocert guarantees a product formulation that adheres to strict organic cosmetic guidelines and ensures that a company has put in place non-polluting processes in manufacturing.

There is no animal testing, no petrochecmical derivatives, no silicon, artificial coloring or fragrance, and all products contain at least 95 percent natural ingredients, with 95 percent of botanical ingredients certified organic. At least 10 percent must be drawn from organic farming.

The only hitch is that you have to watch when spreading the word on these. I showed some women the nourishing cream tube at a conference and before it came back to me half of it was gone.
