"These salts made a pleasant and copious foam with a slightly more course texture to the suds than standard liquid bubble baths. The scent was amazing: My whole bathroom smelled heavenly, and so did I "
|
TNothing entices me more than a warm tub of water and a selection of bath goodies to go into it. While time constraints make this only an occasional pleasure, I make the most of every minute of it, selecting my scents, oils and salts with great care. A cup of tea and a book waits within reach of the tub: The warm water is pouring out into the basin. What shall I add? Like a mad scientist, I begin my chemistry experiment in joyful ablution.
Welcome Bath Bloomers products to my laboratory; a selection of delightful scents in a variety of products. They offer oils, creams, lathering and hydrating gels, foaming bath salts, buffing grains, and candles. Scents include Lavender Sachet Spa, Hibiscus Loutron, Cedrus Geranium Kyphi, Tea Rose Thermae, Citrus Sento, Tangerine Yin Yang, Orange Spice Halawa, Mint Gymnasium, and Pine Nettle Sauna.
The company began in 1998 with the goal of making bath products using scents inspired by locations around the world. For example, Lavender Sachet Spa was inspired by the practice of scenting of clothing in 17th Century France and England. Citrus Sento was inspired by Japanese bathing rituals. Orange Spice Halawa was inspired by the Turkish hamman, or steam bath.
The first product I tried was Bath Bloomers Bubbling Bath Salts. ($30 for a 32-ounce jar.) I do love a bubble bath, and detoxifying with bath salts is a regular part of my regime. These salts made a pleasant and copious foam with a slightly more course texture to the suds than standard liquid bubble baths. The scent was amazing: My whole bathroom smelled heavenly, and so did I.
After a few minutes of soaking in the suds I added a few drops of the Bath and Body Oil. ($16 for a 4-ounce bottle.) I was happy with how little oil was needed to turn my tub into a moisturizing treatment. I proceeded to shower off the suds and dry my skin, then applied a little more of the Bath and Body Oil, which comes with a spray pump for easy application. It went on smoothly and covered evenly. The scent was pleasantly strong but never too much, and it was true to its floral origins. After it penetrated my skin, the scent lingered but was softer and very pleasant. I needed no perfume afterward. My skin felt soothed and hydrated, even in the harsh indoor heating during winter.
Later that week, I tried the Bath Bloomers Quenching Cream. ($25 for an 8-ounce bottle.) The cream was also smooth, but lighter in both texture and scent. It penetrated quickly. My skin felt hydrated but not greasy. The scent was still quite detectible, but not as strong as the oil. It's perfect for warmer days when an oil might feel too heavy, or for touching up the scent throughout the day.
Thanks to Bath Bloomers, my experiments continue and improve.
